PL430, Seminar in the History of Philosophy

PLEASE NOTE: When taught by Mooney, the seminar will concern some topic in ANCIENT GREEK PHILOSOPHY, unless otherwise specified.  Next anticipated offering: PLATO'S SOCRATIC DIALOGUES, Fall, 2009.

Past topics have included: PLATO'S MIDDLE AND LATE DIALOGUES, PLATONISM AND EMPIRICISM, PLATO'S SOCRATIC DIALOGUES, ARISTOTLE'S NICOMACHEAN ETHICS.

Socrates

Focus is upon Plato's "Socratic" dialogues.  As a seminar, PL450 is intended for students majoring or minoring in philosophy.  The seminar does not carry Division-V Core credit, and so does not qualify to meet the student's Division-V Philosophy credits at John Carroll University.
